The kids loved their donut snacks the other day, but Ethan wanted to sample the snowman and Paige was requesting a reindeer. It's not often we have donuts in the house, so there was no time like the present to make more cute snacks for them.

These are much the same as the previous donut snacks, with just a couple changes. I perfected the antler shapes - I knew the last ones didn't look right, but after breaking a dozen pretzels and not seeing the right shape show itself I just did what I did. It wasn't until I saw the photo that I realized I just needed to snap off the top loop. Duh! :)
Other changes: Rudolph has jelly beans for a nose and I got a couple candy corns for the snowmen. I got just a few from one of those bulk bins of candy at the mall. This was nice because I was able to only get what I needed (rather than buy a big bag) and I sifted through the candy corns a little to scoop out the "defective" ones missing the white tips. The candy lady looked at me like I was a nutterbutter when I went to pay for my few pieces of candies and waved me out of her store without paying! Sweet deal. ;-)
Another fun addition for the snowmen are their hats. I found my Christmas bento supplies this weekend (I store the holiday and season-specific ones separately because I don't have kitchen space for ALL of it to be in there all the time) and these cupcake picks are a great topper. :)

The blue box is my PaperChase box, and the green one is a new addition. It's a Leaflet bento from Amazon

These donut treats are so so cute!!! I especially love the little hat picks :D
Very cute. I bought one of the Paperchase boxes last week for my youngest son.
Lisa, where did you find it?!! I've only known PaperChase to be sold at Borders - didn't they all close down?
Sorry Melissa, I am in the UK and Paperchase have their own stores here.
Right! Lucky you. :)
The simplest things are often the best--I agree that the donuts are very cute and creative, but I also love the Christmas-themed apple slices--an inspired idea to mix red and green, that I just might borrow for myself soon! I feel quite silly that I never thought of it on my own.
