In this farmtastic bento box there is a cowmooflaged boiled egg, ham and cheese half-sandwich on whole wheat, purple grapes, a few gnarly pickles and some Annie's organic bunny snack mix. The "moo!" letters are provolone cheese and cut with my mini sized alphabet cutter set.
An egg! Yep, that's what that cute cow is!

I used my Tovolo ice cream sandwich press to mold a boiled egg into a cow face, then colored the black spots on it with black food coloring. I wasn't getting nice covering with my black food marker, so I actually used Wilton black food gel
Are you new to shaped eggs? To learn more about the process, you can check out my tutorial: how to make shaped eggs. :)

You are such an inspiration! I made peanut butter & jelly sushi rolls for my DD today. Also put some of the raspberries and cheese bites on fancy picks. She was so excited and asked what would Fancy Nancy say if she saw it? Thanks for the ideas for making packing lunches more enjoyable.
Aw, I love the Fancy Nancy comment! That is so sweet! :D
Wow! Your cow is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love to use egg molds. I will have to try out the ice cream molds on eggs.
love love love the cute cow hehe. is the ice cream mold the same concept as the other egg molds. stuff the egg in and squish in the fridge over night?
mbug, yep, that's it! You need to keep the plunger part pressed in until the egg cools, I used a really thick rubberband.
