bento lunch: bunny love in a Lock & Lock

Lunch for my 3rd grade boy. The bunny cutters are new and he thinks they are really cute. So do I! :)

bunny love Lock & Lock

Clockwise from top left:
- pickles
- wheat crackers with cheddar cheese
- strawberries
- grapes and carrots

The bunny shapes are from this cute mini-cutter set I ordered from JList.

The funny bunny picks the grapes are on are from the very first set of bento picks I bought - from ebay, nearly 3 years ago. I'm not sure this specific set is still available, but these picks are still at the top of my favorites list!

STOP IT! :) I just placed an order form J-list but have already emailed hoping they will include those bunny cutters! I really thought I had perused every item, but dern-it!
You are my inspiration. My little guy is starting preschool tomorrow. He is four. Last year he started at another school and in Nov. we pulled him out - unbeknownst to us it was not a - well, it wasn't where he needed to be. So this is a fresh start. I came here for some mommy-mojo as I pack his first little school lunch. You are the best - thank you for all of your un-kowing support from one who checks your blog frequently. Yippee for fun lunches!! <3

I have a question -- Do you thinly slice block cheese to get your pieces of cheese or do they sell cheese like that somewhere?

I just wanted to know that I have been reading your blog for the past month or so. I stumbled upon it somehow, who knows, but I really enjoy hearing what you have to say! You have a beautiful family, and I enjoy your bento lunch boxes! It has inspired me to do the same when I have children of my own! I blog, mainly about recipes here: www.wwwssfi.blogspot.com I am just trying to get myself known and out there! Check me out if you want!

Thanks! SAB

Tillamook makes pre-sliced cheese.
I just ordered these from a link from the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom MTM for the mini letters (the page showed these ones too. And a similar set. I ordered them both! And a Winnie the Pooh egg shaper. And all the letters... and around $50 more than my budget on other stuff! Darn you!) And my new (pre-ordered) Lunch Punch sets arrived a week ago! I'm so excited I could pee!

A random pickle question.... do you do something to them before packing them in a lock & lock or a sassy container? My daughter says that when I pack them everything then tastes like pickle, despite being kept separate. I'm wondering if it's the odor? I tried draining them on towels first, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Just curious if you've had the issue?
