Muffin Tin Monday - planes, trains, & automobiles

Zoom! Chugga chugga chugga chugga, choo choo! Beeeeep!

It's Muffin Tin Monday again and this time we went with a "things that go" theme! It was an easy choice since I've been dying to play with the new VrrrM transportation set Lunch Punches some more!

zoom, chug, beep!

Top row: clementine orange slices with an airplane shaped fruit leather, Trader Joe's "pirate booty", a hard boiled egg (decorated with food safe markers and olives for tires!).
Bottom row: blueberry cargo, a train shaped sandwich (fruit leather wheels and cheese panels (wasn't real sure how to accent the train!)), strawberries.

Details... Let's see. The airplane fruit leather was cut out using the center section of the airplane Lunch Punch (same one I used for last week's Muffin Tin Monday!). I put the pirate booty in that specific muffin cup spot because it reminded me of smoke coming out of the stack on the train :). The car shaped (honk! honk!) hard boiled egg was made using an egg mold, of course. If you'd like more details on how that's done, I have a tutorial on it you can check out here.

As I said about the Lunch Punches before, this Vrrrm set of transportation shapes isn't available just yet, but will be sooooon! You can preorder a set now and they'll ship mid-August, in time for back-to-school! :)

I just love putting together themes. :)

Want to see what other muffin tin mamas were cooking up this week? You can check them out over at the home of Muffin Tin Monday.

Love love love this!!! I have a 3 1/2 year old cousin who LOOOOVVVESSS cars/planes/anything with an engine. I'm considering getting him these lunch punches so his mom can make him some car sandwichs when he starts Kindergarden. I'm sure this would make me the coolest big cousin ever.

I found your site through the #31DBBB challenge. So glad I found it! What great ideas just in time for back to school.

Oooh, love it! Looks like the food markers work well with the egg mold!

I absolutely LOVE the car, what a great idea. I have never used egg molds, but will certainly be checking out your tutorial and look for some to add to our collection. Thanks for sharing.
