itty bitty little snack bentos

Cute snacks for two of my cute kids.

For my 3-year-old:
itty bitty bento pink
She had a "sushi sandwich" (cream cheese & grape preserves), baby fishie crackers, a tiny silicone cup of blueberries and a wedge of clementine.

For my 8-year-old:
itty bitty bento blue
He had peppered turkey roll-ups, mini stars of cheddar cheese, blueberries, and a homemade granola bite.

I know it can be hard to get a handle on the size from just a photo, so for reference these bentos are the size of a deck of cards! Very small. It was a fun little challenge to pack these. The things I do to amuse myself.... ;-)

Wow! So cute! You did a great job! Do you happen to know where to get the box?

I found them at World Market. I can't remember the brand name of them to look them up now. For some nutty reason I'm thinking they are made in New Zealand.

Just for you Alie I went and dug through the trash to find the sticker/label from them! They ARE made in New Zealand (surprising!) and the brand is "sistema" and it also says "KLIP-IT".

These boxes are 200ml/6.7oz in size!

They are sorta like Lock & Locks, but rather than the clips being on the lids and snapping on the boxes, on these the clips are on the boxes and latch up onto the lid. They have a seal on them so I *think* they may be water-tight. I haven't tested them yet.

Oh you are awesome! Thanks so much. I feel so loved... never had anyone dig through the trash for me. ;)

We have a Cost Plus World Market near us. Do you think it is the same as your World market? I'll be checking it out.

Yes, Alie, same store! :) They have some interesting things!

I agree Sherry, there is something about mini sizes that I have a hard time resisting. :P

I just recently came across your blog and I LOVE IT!!! I so appreciate how fresh everything is and how its "real food". I see that you make the granola bites often. Mind sharing your recipe?

I just got back from my world market and unfortunately for me, they don't carry that size. :( Oh well. Thanks again for getting the info for me. :)

I have the boxes, got them at World Market as well. They are NOT water tight sadly. I didnt think to test it and put apple sauce in it for my son. Thankfully I packed extra wipes in that lunch b.c he said everything else was sticky from the juice. Lesson learned!

Anonymous #11, the little cheese stars in the second bento are made using a tiny mini cutter. For sure! No way I could freehand those. :)
