attack of the plentiful strawberries

My boy asked for strawberries "with seconds" for his lunch today.  I smiled on the inside remembering asking "for seconds" of my favorites when I was kid. :)

He has a double portion of strawberries on the left (with my favorite giraffe pick/fork!), Wheat Thin crackers with cheddar cheese stars on the top right and pickles on the bottom right.

This is packed in a 4 square Lock and Lock box with only two of the four inner boxes used. :)

I have three kids and I work full time. I have one child in public school (kindergarten) and hate the lunches I pack. PB&J and gold fish every day. I LOVE these ideas because she is a picky eater but loves fruit. Almost every single one of your pictures...she would eat every bit of it.

I can't tell you how excited I am to pack some of these lunches for her. She will be so excited!

I don't know how you came up with a website dedicated to packing lunches...but it is FABULOUS!

I'm a new reader and love your bento's and lunches! My son is 15 months and you have given me great ideas already for packed lunches!
My question is where do you find your little toothpicks, kabobs, and silicon borders? Also, can you get your bento boxes or other small compartment boxes at my local Publix or Walmart or are they exclusively online? I checked the FAQ's and didn't see anything about them.

Thanks!

I would totally LOVE that lunch!! My cup of tea. Can I pack it for myself? ;)

Also, yes, thank the Nester for guiding us here. Great ideas!

Thanks, people! :)

CarO, the supplies are from some different places...the picks are mostly from bento supply shops. They are not wide-spread, unfortunately (many in the SF bay area!). There are some online stores and ebay. The online store I bought a lot of my gear from closed last summer. I'm lucky to have a friend in CA who shops for me and sends me bento care packages too. :)

The long swizzle sticks I use in the Goodbyn box are pretty easy to find. They are the stir sticks for cocktails and party drinks. I got my set at a party supply store, I've also seen them at Target and grocery stores.

The boxes I use are from all around. The Lock & Lock box I am fond of came from Target a couple years ago. My local Targets don't sell Lock & Lock brand anymore, but I've heard that others do in other parts of the country. I think some Walmarts sell them too. They are also on Amazon and some other online retailers. The Sassy boxes I use are from Amazon, though I did see one at a ToysRUs a couple years ago. If they have them they would be found in the toddler feeding section, near sippy cups and that sort of stuff.

Goodbyns are only online as far as I know. The Laptop Lunches boxes are online and also some Whole Foods sell them (mine don't though!). If you order from their website you can use the coupon code "anotherlunch" to get a 10% discount on your order. :)
I will have a new type of box to share in the next couple days that I am very excited about!

Mostly any nicely sealing box will work for bentos. I use different boxes based on my mood that morning (LOL) and what sort of food I'll be packing. Some are easier to care for than others (dishwasher safe Vs. hand wash only) and some are more durable than others.

Silicone cups are very easy to find these days! Wilton makes good ones, and in many sizes and shapes. I've also found some nice ones at World Market. Occasionally Target has some in their Dollar Spot (though the quality of those is substantially less - you really do get what you pay for!).
