This bento was decorated by my 8-year-old son. He wanted to pick out which picks were added and chose these ones, a dolphin and a penguin, saying that it was "a little arctic theme". I had a little OCD twitch happening with this selection, but I managed to keep my mouth zipped. I asked how the yellow bear tied in and he replied it was a polar bear. Oh, of course. I asked if dolphins really lived in the arctic and he assured me that they did. I'm quite sure they don't, but I wasn't interested in arguing so early in the morning. ;-)

He has carrots with ranch dip in the polar bear cup (ha), strawberry cereal bar, arctic fish and strawberries.
Next he wanted to pick out the paper for the picture. I didn't notice until I uploaded it that it was robot paper. Arctic robots I'll assume. Of course.

super cute! He did a great job!! and I noticed the background paper right away - I love it. :)
Being in Alaska, I can say, I have not seen dolphins here, although we have many species of whale, and may in fact have dolphins too. (your post did cause me to take a break and do a little internet search about them though). one site I found said dolphins live in all the oceans. I'm not as far north as the Arctic (though most people might consider all of Alaska "Arctic") :) We do have polar bears up north, but penguins are antarctic only. they don't naturally live in north america.
You have such great ideas, browsing your blog is such a treat! I'm thinking about trying to do this for my kiddos...I think they'd love it! I'd love to know where you found those cute little animal cups you use. :)
It's a special arctic dolphin of course!! :D Very nice lunch!
